Heigl says no thanks, Emmy, it’s undeserved

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Katherine Heigl won’t be chewing her manicure at this year’s Emmy ceremony: She says she didn’t seek a nomination because “Grey’s Anatomy” failed to deliver the goods for an award-worthy performance.

Heigl, who was honored as best supporting actress in a drama last year for the ABC series, declined to put her name in consideration for a bid, a spokeswoman for the actress said Wednesday.

“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization” decided against competing, Heigl said in a written statement provided by her publicist, Melissa Kates, who was contacted by the AP.

Mark your calendars! Grey’s is returning! Thursday, April 24th, the first of five new episodes before wrapping up for the season. No word yet if there will be any more episodes of Private Practice or a season 2. Also, we are putting the finishing touches on our new website design. Grey’s Anatomy: Dr. Webber Not Yet Ready for Love?

As Dr. Richard Webber on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, James Pickens, Jr. has been through much emotional turmoil with his character’s struggling marriage and illicit romantic affair.  As much as the 53-year-old actor would want to see the Chief in a romantic storyline, Richard doesn’t seem to be quite ready for a love interest. Instead, Richard is now in the process of grieving that encompasses both his wife Adele (Loretta Devine) and his deceased lover Ellis Grey (Kate Burton).

“Obviously, he’s scared to death of getting in the dating pool,” Pickens told TV Guide of his character on Grey’s Anatomy.  “With McDreamy [Patrick Dempsey] and McSteamy [Eric Dane] trying to egg him on, it doesn’t bode well for him.”

Yep. Believe it or not the re-runs are beginning. Tomorrow night Grey’s Anatomy will rerun Episode 1 of Season 4.

Do I believe it is due to the WRITERS STRIKE. YES I do.
